Turn your Olympus DS-7000 or DS-3500 digital voice recorder into a truly mobile dictation device with the FlashAir card from Toshiba. With the FlashAir card inserted, which replaces your standard SD memory card, you can:

  • Wirelessly transfer your dictation to your iPhone or Android smartphone
  • Send the audio via email to your transcription typist/team using the Olympus Dictation App
  • Send the audio via FTP to your transcription typist/team using the Olympus Dictation App (requires ODDS subscription)
  • Encrypt and send audio to your transcription typist/team (requires ODDS subscription)

The days of taking your laptop with you just to connect your recorder and get your audio back to your transcriptionist have gone!

To use the FlashAir card in your DS-7000 or DS-3500 you must update to firmware version v1.20 on your device. You can do this directly from our Customer Support Page here...

You will also need the Olympus Dictation App for iPhone or Android. This is a free download from the iTunes App store and from Google Play.

You may also wish to record dictation in DSS'DS2 Format to send Dictation via FTP and secure your files with 256Bit Encryption, for this you will require the ODDS (Olympus Dictation Delivery Service), available here.

Our business had a bespoke requirement...

The ability to dictate correspondence and reports whilst operating away from an office overseas (Russia) and send these to our London-based support staff for transcription, and then back again for review and proofing.

The staff at Speak IT recommended the DS7000 with an Air Card in order to transfer dictation files to an iPad or iPhone via the FlashAir Card, and then email these files to our office.

The system works very well, with files transferred quickly between devices and attached to outgoing emails. Although the Air Card initially fought with the iPhones wireless internet connection, the staff at Speak IT soon ironed this out with a quick change of settings.

We are still impressed that dictations can now be transferred to the office from anywhere in the world!

All you need are two small devices and a mobile signal. Brilliant.
